While white diamond jewelry featured in the Maison’s creations from the outset, it underwent an evolution during the second half of the1920s. This was seen in the1929 Exposition at the Palais Galliera which celebrated white diamond jewelry, as opposed to the1925 Exposition that favored color jewelry. This bracelet was designed between these two events and illustrate the change that occurred within the jewelry arts mid-decade. While summarizing earlier progress, its monochrome composition in diamonds and platinum changed in terms of volume. Forms were more pronounced, while the links provided flexible, articulated structures for different sized diamonds. The motifs are repetitive and the compositions symmetrical. The traditional ornamental repertory had disappeared once and for all, replaced by more solid structures and geometric abstraction. These principles are applied to several types of jewelry.
