This rectangular box dating from the second half of the1920s illustrates Art Deco’s penchant for the Far East and for geometric ornamentation. It is highly decorative due to its use of engraved ornamental stones, with a jade plaque on top of an enameled surface in pronounced colors. Its composition is enhanced by jade cabochons, lines of diamonds, and geometric decoration in enamel, softened by the plant motifs of the central plaques.
