Baïonnette brooch
This Baïonnette (bayonet) brooch uses a particularly lively contrast of colors typified by the “emerald onyx diamond” collection of 1919. It also illustrates the fascination with all things Egyptian in vogue in the early 1920s. Stylized motifs resembling lotus leaves bloom at each end of the brooch in a combination of bufftopped diamonds, emeralds, and onyx mounted on platinum, inserted within oval rings of onyx.
