Bagatelle Pelouse bracelet
Bagatelle Pelouse (Lawn) pieces form a series showing how this type of ornamentation can be applied to different jewelry forms. The series was created at the end of the 1940s, and is typified by pieces entirely pave-set with round turquoise cabochons, like beads. This beaded gem motif is dotted with ruby and diamond flowers, some individually, others set in pairs. The hearts of these small flowers are alternatively set with rubies, diamonds, and turquoises, depending on the examples. This bracelet illustrates the renewed taste for turquoise in the Maison’s creations of the 1950s. This opaque gem is characterized by its intense blue, which appears all the more lively when used without any matrix veins, as it is here.
